Terms

What this site is, what it is not, and the limits of anything you read on it.

This is a demonstration website built to show a design and build standard. Northwood Insurance Brokers Ltd. is a fictional brokerage. Every licence number, premium, person, testimonial and office address on this site is invented. No insurance can be bought here and no advice given here is real advice.

Not insurance advice

Nothing on this site is an offer to insure, a binder, or advice on which you should act. Real insurance advice comes from a broker licensed in your province, working from your actual circumstances and your actual policy wording. Coverage is governed by the policy document issued by the insurer, and where this site and a policy wording disagree, the policy wording governs.

Accuracy of the provincial information

The description of provincial auto insurance systems on this site was written to be accurate as at the date below. Provincial statutes, minimum limits, and the products the public insurers sell all change. Confirm anything you plan to rely on with a licensed broker or the provincial regulator.

Licensing

A real Canadian brokerage is licensed province by province: RIBO in Ontario, the Alberta Insurance Council, the Insurance Council of British Columbia, the Autorité des marchés financiers in Québec, the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan, the Insurance Council of Manitoba, and the superintendents of insurance in the Atlantic provinces and the three territories. The licence numbers shown on this site are fictional.

Links to other sites

Where this site names a regulator, an ombudservice or a public insurer, it does so for identification. Those organisations have not reviewed or endorsed this site and are not associated with it.

Governing law

A real version of this document would be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, with the consumer protection legislation of your own province applying where it grants you greater rights.
